Day 1:- Arrival Delhi

Arrive at the New Delhi International airport. Our representative will assist you in getting transferred to your pre booked hotel. Check in, and relax for the day. Stay overnight at the hotel.


Day 2:- Delhi

After breakfast, get ready for the city tour of New Delhi as well as Old Delhi. Visit Qutub Minar raised by Qutub- u- din in 1199 either as a victory tower or as a minaret to the adjacent mosque; Lotus Temple (closed on Monday) completed in 1986, the Bahai temple set amidst pools and gardens, and adherents of any faith are free to visit the temple and pray or meditate silently according to their own religion; India Gate built as a memorial to commemorate the 70,000 India soldiers killed in World War I, India Gate was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens and completed in 1931; the mughals brought with them a love for gardens, fountains and water, the first mature example of Mughal architecture in India,  Humayun's Tomb  was built by the emperor's grieving widow, Haji Begum, in 1565 AD; Jama Masjid one of the Architectural gift given by Shah Jahan, Jama Masjid is one of the largest mosques not only in Delhi but in India. Completed in 1658 this Mosque has three gateways, four angle towers and two 40 m high minarets. Head to Red Fort (Closed on Monday) which was made in 1639, when  Shah Jahan  decided to shift his capital from Agra  to Delhi. Built in Red Sand stone this imposing fort is 3 kms in perimeter with the height of the wall varying from 18 to 30 meters at places. Return back to the hotel and stay overnight.

Day 3:- Delhi - Jaipur (265 kms/5 hrs)

After breakfast at, get driven to Jaipur, the Pink City, founded in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, the ruler of Amber. Reach Jaipur and check in the pre-booked hotel. In the evening enjoy shopping in the Ramganj Bazar for shoes or jutis as they are called, Kishanpol Bazar for tie and dye textiles, Maniharon Ka Rasta (Tripolia Bazar) for lac bangles and other items, Achrol House, Subhash Chowk for carpets, Khajano Ka Rasta for marble carving, and Sanganer village for block printing, hand-made paper and blue pottery. Return and stay overnight at the hotel.


Day 4:- Jaipur

After breakfast, get ready to explore the beautiful architecture of Amer Fort which used to be the capital of the Kachhwaha clan, till Jaipur was made the official capital in 1727, Jal Mahal on the way to Amer, this small palace is set in the middle of Man Sagar Lake and Hawa Mahal built in 1799, by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, is the most recognizable monument of Jaipur. The 5 storied stunning semi-octagonal monument having 152 windows with over hanging latticed balconies is a fine piece of Rajput architecture. Followed by City Palace a blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture, it houses a Seven storeyed Chandra Mahal in the centre, which affords a fine view of the gardens and the city, Jantar Mantar built in 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the huge masonary instruments were used to study the movement of constellations and stars in the sky and Birla Temple. In the evening enjoy the cultural performances and dinner at Chokhi Dhani. Return and stay overnight at the hotel.


Day 5:- Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra (245 kms/5 hrs)

After breakfast, check out and get driven to Agra. En-route visit Fatehpur Sikri, also known as the “Ghost City”. Its gate, Bulund Darwaza, the largest gateway in the world is the main attraction of the town. Fatehpur Sikri built by Emperor Akbar in 1569, was the old capital of the Moghuls, which was abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. See the graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal & other Palaces which are still preserved in its original glory. Reach Agra and check in your pre-booked hotel. Stay overnight at the hotel.


Day 6:- Agra - Delhi

Early morning we leave to see the magnificent piece of architecture the Taj Mahal, perhaps the most photographed monument in the world. A dawn visit to the fabled Taj Mahal to witness the magical effects caused by the reflections of the changing colors of the rising Sun on this brilliant white marble building. Later we return back to our hotel for breakfast.

Later, check out and visit Red Fort, which was built by Emperor Akbar in 1565, and additions were made up until the time of his grandson, Shah Jahan. It contains the hall of public and private audiences amongst many other beautiful structures; Itmad-ud-daulah, which was constructed by Nur Jahan between 1622 and 1628 and is very similar to the tomb she constructed for her husband, Jehangir, near Lahore in Pakistan.

Proceed towards to Delhi. On reaching Delhi, check in the hotel and relax. 


Day 7:- Delhi – (By Air) Bagdogra -  Gangtok(125 kms / 4-5 hours)

After breakfast check out of the hotel and transfer to Delhi airport to board the flight to Bagdogra. Arrive at Bagdogra airport and our representative will assist you in getting transferred to the hotel in Gangtok. Enjoy picturesque drive to Gangtok the capital City of Sikkim. On arrival, check-in to your hotel rest of the day is at leisure. Stay overnight at Gangtok.


Day 8:- Gangtok

Today we take an excursion tour to Tsongo Lake, considered extremely sacred by the local people. The place is a paradise for bird lovers with large number of Blue Whistling Thrush, Redstarts & Fork tails around. It hosts a number of migratory birds prominent among which is the Brahminy ducks. The word Tsongo in Bhutia language means source of the lake. Next we visit Do Drul Chorten, are two exquisite Stupas, the Dul-dul-Chorten, was built to commemorate the victory of good over evil. The Jhang Club Chorten was built to perpetuate the memory of a great spiritualist of today. Thrul-Shik Rinpoche an ardent devotee of Buddha and one of his best interpreters died in 1962, the stupa immortalizes Rinpoche in the land of his birth. Next we visit Rumtek Monastery, meandering roads through emerald green rice terraces, lays Rumtek, the main monastery of Kagyud or 'Black Hat' sect of Tibetan Buddhism. Built in 1959 by His Holiness the 16th Reincarnated Gyalwa Karmapa, it is a replica of Tsurphu Monastery from the Kham region of Tibet.
Later we visit Himalayan Zoological Parkalso known as Bulbuley. It has paved cement path that passes by fenced open air enclosure housing the Red Pandas, barking deer & bears in a semi natural habitat. Next Government Institute of Cottage Industries (GICI), which produces crafts in authentic Sikkimese designs. Hand woven Tibetan carpets sprout dragons in natural dyes, Sikkimese-style tables called Choktse are expertly carved & colored in red & gold. Also explore Lal bazaar, melody of colour. Various ethnic groups from different villages gather to haggle, bargain, gossip their wares. Overnight in Gnagtok.

Day 9:- Gangtok - Pelling (120 Kms / 4-5 hours Approx)

After breakfast, check out and visit Research Institute of Tibetology, organization dedicated to furthering Tibetan studies, Buddhist philosophy & region. It attracts scholars from all over the world. It houses a rare collection of 30,000 books, Tantric documents, rare manuscripts written in gold on the bark of a poisonous tree, antique thanks & 200 icons, all prized objects of art for the Buddhism.

Leave for Pelling which is 120 km from the state capital Gangtok. Pelling is a town in the district of West Sikkim, nestled at an altitude of 2,150 m (7,200 feet). The Himalayas and the Kanchenjanga may be viewed at close quarters from Pelling. The land around Pelling is still a virgin territory and is bathed with alpine vegetation, with numerous waterfalls lining the hillside. In the months of winter, Pelling is sometimes covered with a blanket of snow. Reach Pelling check in the hotel and overnight stay.


Day 10:- Pelling  

After breakfast we will have sightseeing of Pelling and around which include Khangchendzonga waterfalls, Pemayangtse Monastery , Rabdanse Ruins , Sewaro rock garden, Darap village, Rimbi Water Falls & Karchen Power House ,helipad ground, Khecheopalri Lake: This is considered one of the sacred lakes of Sikkim. The lake remains hidden in the rich forest cover. It is believed that birds do not permit even a single leaf to float on the lake surface. Ensure maintaining the sanctity of the place by being silent, and by not trying to feed the fish.: When descending from Pemayangtse Monastery you can take a left turn and take a walk for 10 min to reach to the gateway of Rabdanse Ruins. The ruins lie hidden from the main road. The walk towards Rabdantse is through a forest area with some rare species of orchids and a few lakes. These lakes are also home to local carp fish. There are good views from the top of the ruins looking across the deep valley and to the Khang-chen-Dzonga ranges. After sightseeing return back to the hotel and overnight stay


Day 11:- Pelling - Darjelling (90 Kms / 4 hours Approx)  

which is known for its tea plantations. The place makes one experience the most breath-taking views of the Himalayas. After reaching Darjeeling, check-in to the hotel and after fresh up free to roam Darjeeling market in the evening.


Day 12:- Darjeeling  

Morning we visit Tiger Hill, famous for its magnificent view of Kanchenjunga, Mt. Everest & other eastern Himalayan peaks especially at the time of sunrise. On our way back we first visit Ghoom, as the name suggests it is gloomy & clammy with perpetual fog. A Tibetan village, one can hear the foghorn-like sounds of Buddhist monks blowing their giant Gyeling pipes from the rooftops of the nearby Yiga-Choling ' Yellow Hat' Buddhist Temple. Later we visit the two Buddhist monasteries Chholing & Darli.

After some rest we take a ride of toy train of Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR), now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Also visit the Mountaineering Institute, created by the late Tenzing Norgay, the Sherpa who conquered Mt Everest with Sir Edmund Hillary. A display of equipment used on the climb is one of the highlights.. Next we visit the Tibet Handicraft Centre & the beautiful Tea gardens. In the evening visit the Observatory Hillknown locally as Makal-Babu-Ko-Thaan. According to legend, a Red Hat Buddhist Monastery called Dorje Ling, or 'place of the Thunderbolt', stood at this very spot. The Nepalese destroyed it in the 19th century, now the Shivas & Buddhists share the temple that stands there today.


Day 13:- Darjelling – (By Road) Bagdogra – (By Air) Delhi  

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and get driven to Bagdogra airport for boarding flight to Delhi. Reach Delhi and proceed for the onward destination. Services from Travelofi end here.
